Breaking down isn’t much fun so what insurances are needed?
When things happen
Whilst not a pleasant subject to talk about, we feel that it is really important to mention possible break downs by the side of the road.
If this happens, our tour guides will never be far away and will always come to assist you.
It’s a hugely daunting thing to happen and thats why we pride ourselves on helping as much as we can. Always remember your safety. Stop in a safe place and put your reflective jacket on.
Motorbike Insurance
It is so important to make sure that you have the right insurance for your motorcycle, in case something happens and you need to rely on your insurance company to help you.
Some companies are better than others, so read the reviews before you buy your insurance.
Whatever happens on your tour, our guides will never be far away and will make their way to you to assist in getting you sorted.
Remember, as daunting as it may be to break down in another country, there is always a way to fix the issue.
EU Cover
Ensure that your insurance covers you and your motorbike to travel in the EU and specifically the country you are touring in for the duration of your tour.
Repatriation
Make sure that your insurance company has a repatriation policy so that not only you can get safely to your destination, but that your beloved motorcycle does too.
Required Insurance
All riders on our tours MUST have valid insurance for themselves and their pillion for the duration of our tours. This is purely so that we can assist if anything happens.
It also takes the worry out of any eventuality.
Internation Driving Licence
For most of Europe you don’t need an international driving licence. Effectively this is just a translation of your licence to the host country so that they know your entitlements to ride. If you would like one however, you can get one from a UK post office and they are not expensive.
Breakdown Cover
When touring with us, it is one of our requirements that you must have your own breakdown cover for your motorcycle.
This must cover repatriation for both you and your motorbike in the event of breakdown or accident.
Travel & Medical Insurance
Travel and medical insurance is often overlooked but we recommend that you have travel insurance that covers the cancellation of your tour in case you can’t make it due to something happening beyond your control.
This should also cover you for medical treatment in the countries you visit and should cover you whilst riding a motorcycle and include repatriation (this is a requirement for entry to some countries in Europe).
